After spending most of last fall and this spring on the shelf rehabbing a bad wing, Nate Pearson finally got back out there and showed why he’s a force to be reckoned with. Not only does the 6’6″ 230lb righty from Bishop McLaughlin HS currently possess a good fastball (88-92) but he’s developing his CB and Change-Up. Nate’s presence and stuff was enough to force FIU into making him a good enough offer to pass on other D1 programs.
Nate has proven he is resilient and has a strong desire to be the best he can be. If he continues improving, he may have a tougher decision to make in June, whether to sign a pro contract or head down to Ft Lauderdale and begin his college career. Either way, the sky is the limit for this kid. Turtle Thomas and Frank Damas chose not only one heck of a pitcher, but a kid with a high character and a huge heart!
We wish Nate the very best and pray he always competes in such a way that it brings honor to Christ!
1 Corinthians 9:24-27
Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. Therefore I do not run like a man running aimlessly; I do not fight like a man beating the air. No, I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.
